Hoeganaes Expands China Operations

US ferrous powder producing giant, the Hoeganaes Corporation has announced in recent weeks their intention to open a new market support facility in Danyang, China.

It is believed that the expansion will help support the growing special powder metallurgy market within China by being able to provide quick delivery of pre-mixes, as well as being able to warehouse the full portfolio of company products.

With construction well under way, Hoeganaes are expecting the development to be completed by mid 2010.

Hoeganaes Corporation is the world"s largest producer of metal powders and has stated that the new facility will increase export efficiency for their Chinese trade by reducing lead times. The new premises will also comprise of an in-house laboratory, fully equipped to provide in-depth quality assurance testing.

The facility itself, combined with the on-site research capabilities will help provide a platform to develop new super alloy"s and further expand the application of technically advanced special metal powders.
