Tests Successful for New Nickel Powder Technology

Russian metal giants, Norilsk Nickel have finished developing, and are now looking to implement a new form of technology for manufacturing nickel powders.

With profit optimisation and carbon footprint reduction at the forefront of their design, Norilsk Nickel have spent the past few months developing the new technology which will be used as a reagent in electrolyte purification and making cement copper.

Under the scope of technical modernaisation, the new industrial model should allow the plant to significantly reduce harmful emissions, optimise production and improve operational/cost efficiency.

Norilsk Nickel now plan to install new equipment in sintering and electrolysis workshops, for the industrial scale manufacture of nickel powder using the new technology.

Having being tried and tested earlier this year, the new facility is expected to be commissioned in 2011.
