Two New Elements Discovered - Ununquadium and Ununhexium

The recent discovery of two new elements at positions 114 and 116 has been credited to the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Russia and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, USA.

The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) and the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) have officially added the two new elements following a three-year review, and claims for new chemical elements at positions 113,114, 115,116 and 118 on the periodic table.

Both elements exist for less than a second before decaying and breaking down to lighter atoms. These highly radioactive elements have not yet been given their official titles, however they are temporarily known as ununquadium and ununhexium.
