World's Biggest Aluminium Suppliers Producing 1.8 Million Tons Per Year

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are among some of the biggest aluminium suppliers with smelting operations producing 1.8 million tons per year, which equates to 40% of the total annual aluminium production from the Middle East.

It is estimated that the current investments in the Gulf's aluminium industry is $30 billion, and by 2020 could reach up to $55 billion from impending smelter expansions and new projects. Even more investors are looking to the Gulf because of its strategic geographical location and inexpensive gas stocks, and Europe is already sourcing 6% of its aluminium requirements from the region.
