Welcome to WR Refined Metals, the largest and longest established segment of William Rowland. Providing a range of base metals, Ferro Alloys, Minor Metals and Noble Alloys for over 190 years spanning both world wars. WR, when trading as British Metal Corporation was a key partner supplying metals for the war effort.
WR operations close to Sheffield and Birmingham, UK provide state of the art processing and distribution of many of the above metals and more.
Processes include CNC cathode cutting of squares (1’’ – 4’’) and anodes, shearing of ingots and a range of packaging services including bags, bulk bags, drums and 10 kg bags upward through our automated packaging line.
Virgin blends (mixes) are also provided in a range of packaging to a range of customers who want to eliminate their production/planning steps and trust WR to provide this offering.
Additional to the above, we offer analytical services to support our supply through our modern laboratory which includes LECO gas analysis for O, N, C & S and the latest ICP for major and trace elements.
Export business is supplied from both facilities, and for the UK a regional approach ensures we can provide JIT service to the most demanding supply chains.
All of the above is overseen by our accreditation and approvals, which include ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, Rolls-Royce and several other end users. This provides our long list of repeat customers with the confidence to return time and again to William Rowland.
All products are supplied Conflict free and REACH compliant.
WR offer a range of metals in several forms from cathode and ingot through to lumpy, pellet and flake. The highest purity metals are available from WR for a range of applications and the most exacting industries such as aerospace & defence, oil & gas, renewables and automotive.
Almost every melting process is served, from EAF through VIM and powder atomisation, with carefully selected metals providing the necessary purity for the end use and density required for efficient production.
Highlighted products include:
Base metals – Producer direct materials including Nickel, Chrome (DCX), HP Aluminium, Copper and Tin in a variety of cathode, ingot and pellet forms.
Ferro & noble alloys – Providing various metal contents (%) and forms on a range of Fe Alloys including but not limited to Fe Molybdenum, Fe Vanadium, Fe Tungsten as well as low residual and electrolytic Iron for the lowest possible trace analysis.
Minor metals – Including Cobalt, Rhenium, Hafnium, Bismuth, Cadmium, Indium, Molybdenum, Tungsten and Manganese all available in various forms.
Average prices can be offered over a fixed forward number of days/months, of LME CSP’s.
WR has the flexibility to offer both fixed prices and premiums based on the LME exchange. We have real time information through various platforms and our sister business Amalgamated Metal Trading (AMT), the oldest category one ring dealing member on the LME.
LME cash settlement price (CSP) for a single day at a mutually agreed premium.
SPOT prices can be given at any given time based on the up to date LME trading system of select.
Forward pricings can be given for a required forward date at fixed pricing or premium.
